On 12/17/2025, Special Council Jack Smith gave an 8-hour deposition to House members regarding Donald Trump’s actions on and around January 6th, 2021, allegedly attempting to overturn the results of the 2020 election. Smith explained his case for charging Trump with crimes, and strongly defended his work as being entirely non-partisan. The video and transcript were released on 12/31/2025.
I don’t usually get directly involved in politics on this blog, but I wanted to help ensure that this testimony is preserved against possible suppression by the Trump administration, which has been removing content that doesn’t look favorable to the President. The video and transcript were downloaded to provide an alternate location to view it.
